The Design Process

Whether the genesis of a design begins with an heirloom piece or a blank canvas, the initial step is that of a consultation which unveils a general idea of the desired design, vision, and budget. Being each piece is a couture design, entirely custom-fabricated and hand finished, the realm of possibilities are truly endless.

Hand-Rendered Sketch / Preliminary Design

Imagine you've looked everywhere for the perfect design but simply can't find the ring of your dreams. My skills shine through in custom design and I love it most. Anything you can dream up and maybe a few things you can't, I can build. The process begins with simple sketches and images to get a basic idea of your ideal piece.

Gemstone Selection

Each gem is hand selected for the design in mind to suit your vision and budget constraints.

CAD Model, Technical Images, & Computer Illustration / Rendering

Once we finalize the design and have selected the gems I'll start the 3D CAD model. I build the model exactly to scale to fit your existing gemstone or new stones of your choice. When I deliver your model I provide you with technical specifications as well as multiple rendered views of your new design. The realism afforded by photo realistic renders allows you to get an excellent feel for the final, finished piece.

Wax Model with Gems Set in for Approval

Once you approve the design and illustration, I prepare the models for production and send them to one of my in-studio wax printers.

Casting / Setting / Hand Finishing

The final step in the fabrication process is to send the wax model to casting, once in metal the gemstones will be hand set and piece will be hand polished by my talented bench jeweler.
